Jane Sullivan is a calligrapher, illuminator, fantasy artist and author. She has written several books, published mainly by Dessain & Tolra/ Larousse (Paris). Lately, Jane has been focusing on biblical texts. From 2014 to 2018 she created an illuminated version of the Psalms in the French translation of the monks of the Abbaye of Ligugé. At present, she is working on the four Gospels in the classic "King James Version". For this project, Jane is using her favourite calligraphic script, a "bâtarde française", complemented by her own original style of illumination. The Gospel of Saint John will be published shortly by Cambridge University Press.
Born in California, Jane studied fine-art and paleography in the United-States and in Europe. She is a specialist of the Medieval period and of Celtic art.
